There are so many festivals coming up we couldn’t only name three.

By Lynn Norusis

Fall for the Book Festival
This local annual book festival is mostly virtual this year following the success of last year’s virtual festival. This year you can watch speaker presentations on demand, join in on a variety of author presentations as well as attend a few in person events. And you can always keep up with the latest authors with the Fall for the Book Podcast where they speak with known names such as Chris Stuck, Sandra Beasley, Heather Young, Beth Gilstrap, Jesse DeLong, and more.
October 14-31 | Online and in-person events

16th Anniversary Celebration at Frying Pan Park
Enjoy a day of fall fun for all ages with food trucks, tours, a tractor parade, and more. Watch the cider press in action, meet the farm animals, and see traditional farm demonstrations.

Capital Arts and Crafts Festival
A great opportunity to start your holiday shopping while supporting artisans.  There will be over 185 vendors selling their wares at this weekend festival.

Virginia Gold Cup
While not technically a festival, this is a day many Northern Virginians done the look of the horse country and enjoy the world-famous steeplechase race. Race Day features hurdle and timber horses races, Jack Russell Terrier races, tent, tailgate and hat contests, and vendor booths for shopping.
