Adding a wow factor to a room can be done with an accent wall, and it doesn’t have to be overly dramatic. Many people do this with having a coordinating color for one wall in a room, but in this video we went with texture to add some drama to an office wall.

Supplies

  • 1×2 wood boards (we used poplar)
  • Air-pressure nail gun OR hammer and nails
  • Liquid nails / construction adhesive
  • Level
  • paint (we used Benjamin Moore Vintage Vogue)

Steps

  1. Plan out the wall for ideal spacing and height of boards. (We chose spacing of 6 inches between boards with the bottom boards being 5 feet in length and the top boards being 3.5 feet in length.)
  2. Cut boards to size. Also cut a spacer board for easy spacing when applying to the wall. (6-inch spacer)
  3. Apply small amount of construction adhesive to board, top middle and bottom.
  4. Using level and spacer, place board on wall and nail it in.
  5. Paint boards.
