Alexandria’s 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 7
Old Town Alexandria
In it’s 39th year, the Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day is one of the longest running in our area. Find a spot on the parade route and see bagpipe bands, Irish dancers, the Notre Dame Alumni band just to name a few of the 2000 participants. There will also be a Fun Dog Show before the parade where over 30 costumed dogs will participate in a variety of competitions. Then the dogs will kick-off the parade.

Little Hands on the Farm

Frying Pan Farm Park
Learn about different aspects of farm life and spend time with the farm animals at this learning event. Activities may include, story time, creating crafts and introductory level farm chores.

Shen Yun Performing Arts

George Mason’s Center for the Arts
Explore the cultural history of China through classical Chinese dance. Performed with a live orchestra, follow the performers and their stunning costumes as they take you on a journey through China.

2nd Saturday Art Walk

Workhouse Arts Center
Tour seven unique buildings and see the work of over 100 diverse artists at this monthly event. Guest can mix and mingle with artists, purchase original works of art and view every changing art exhibits.

Women in Aviation and Space Family Day
March 14
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
The museum opens it doors to families and offers hands-on activities, inspiring women, and fun challenges to celebrate women’s contributions to space, aviation, and STEM fields. Test your skill in flight simulators, meet Amelia Earhart or take a Rosie the Riveter photo at the photo station.

Ireland at the Wharf

Come out and wear your green for this St. Patrick’s Day celebration. There will be bagpipers, Irish dancers, live music as well as a Guinness Beer Garden.

St. Pats Run Fest
March 14-15
The Arlington Four Courts Four Miler and the DC  St. Pat’s Races merge race dates for a fun weekend Run Fest.  First, run the 4 miler on Saturday. The first half of the course is downhill and the second half is uphill – but you will enjoy the finish line at Ireland’s Four Courts. Sunday you have the option of running a 5k, a 10K or both through the streets of DC.

Known for their signature blend of traditional and contemporary Irish Music, The Chieftains are the first ensemble to perform a concert in the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. GAMEmason

An engaging day-long gaming convention sponsored by the Mason Computer Game Design Department. Immerse yourself in a variety of favorite games as well as an arcade of classic favorites like Pinball and Donkey Kong. Guests can also participate in educational sessions, Q& panels well as attend meet and greets with major power players in the gaming world including Tara Strong and Angela Hession.

Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony

The Second City: Laughing for All the Wong Reasons

Sugarloaf Craft Festival

Dulles Expo Center
One of the largest Spring craft shows in the area welcomes over 300 artisans who bring their crafts to the Dulles Expo Center. There will live demonstrations by master craftpeople as well as live musi,children’s entertainment and specialty foods available.

DC Bluegrass Festival and 2020

A full afternoon and evening of bluegrass performances including set by IBMA award-winner Claire Birch and performing at the festival for the first time, The Gina Furtado Project and Man About a Horse

Cherry Blossom Kite Festival

Spend the day flying kites with hundreds of other kite lovers. There will be various competitions and kite demonstrations. You can bring your own kite or kids can make one at the kite making station. Kites are also available for purchase.
