We all want to live in a beautiful, healthy place and Fairfax County is getting on the forefront to make this happen for its residents with their new energy and climate action plan.

Fairfax County has recently launched the Community-Wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP). It’s focus is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help community members identify actions to help them achieve the same goals.

The county has implemented nine district focus groups and a task force.

The county is looking for public input to help shape the goals, strategies and activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They are also going to update greenhouse gas inventory for the county to include transportation, energy usage and buildings.

Meetings will occur over an 18-month period with an end date set for mid-2021.
